It’s GNU/Linux!” It’s a bit more nuanced than than. The Linux kernel is just Linux, but what most people refer to as Linux today, the distributions, is GNU with Linux added, or GNU/Linux. GNU played an incredibly important role in the development of Linux as we know it. As a matter of fact, in the “Notes for linux release 0.01”, Torvalds lists the GNU software that is required to run Linux: "Sadly, a kernel by itself gets you nowhere. To get a working system you need a shell, compilers, a library etc. These are separate parts and may be under a stricter (or even looser) copyright. Most of the tools used with linux are GNU software and are under the GNU copyleft. These tools aren't in the distribution (although, I think a binary of GNU’s bash shell actually was) - ask me (or GNU) for more info." In 1992, Torvalds suggested releasing the kernel under the GNU General Public License instead of its very own license it had been using, and did so that December. GNU/Linux was the first complete open source and free operating system. The development of the Linux kernel and the GNU/Linux OS is one that every tech enthusiast should know. From a hobby project in 1991 to one of the most widely used operating systems in the world, the development of Linux is a remarkable story of collaboration, innovation, and open-source software. Linux, for those that don’t know, is a community of open-source operating systems developed on top of the Linux kernel - the core of the operating system, responsible for managing resources, providing access to hardware, and communicating with other software. One could say it all started in 1991 when Linus Torvalds, a computer science student at the University of Helsinki, started working on the operating system as a hobby project. He was frustrated with the proprietary nature of existing operating systems and wanted to create a free and open-source alternative that anyone could use and contribute to. A kernel that could be independent of any OS and be used on his hardware, the new Intel 80386 microprocessor. But it began 22 years earlier. This is the story of the development of the Linux kernel and the GNU/Linux operating system. I hope you enjoyed it. I think we need to take a step back, get educated, acknowledge and appreciate how this wonderful operating system and open source ecosystem came into existence. Many of us take the history for granted and make uninformed criticisms with the mind set of a paying Microsoft Windows customer wanting the SAME experience, SAME technical direction and vision with an ideology that is thankfully completely and utterly incompatible with this view. Причем тут GNU? А я вам отвечу. Когда линукс только разрабатывался, то паралельно с ним один бородатый дядя работал над собственной ОС. То есть, линукс был изначально ядром, просто запомните это. Так вот. Этого бородатого дядьку звали Ричард Столлман. И работал он над проектом GNU. И нет, он работал не над идеологией, не над лицензией. А именно над полноценной ОС GNU. И в то время ядро для этой ос было не готово и требовало серьезных доработок. Потому сообщество, которое помогало разрабатывать GNU, в один прекрасный момент просто взяло и собрало систему, только вместо GNU/Hurd, который должен был стать ядром, там был линукс. И так было ровно до того момента пока не был готов сам гну хард. Но к тому времени компоненты ОС GNU настолько плотно интегрировались с ядром, что ядро стало GNU/Linux. Vamos a ver esas 3 distribuciones que yo, hoy, aquí, y ahora mismo, te voy a recomendar. Y te las recomiendo porque son, de hecho, las 3 distribuciones que he estado utilizando más, y las más recientes. ¡Ah! Y ordenadas cronológicamente…. La tercera de mi TOP es Fedora: Fedora fue una de esas distribuciones que, por decirlo de alguna manera, “curó” mi “distrohopping”. Si, yo también era una usuaria que estaba disconforme con utilizar siempre la misma distribución. No había nada que me calmase, y buscaba distribuciones con KDE Plasma. Curiosamente el distrohopping que yo tenía, dentro de mi, dentro de esta barriguita, era solo y únicamente de distribuciones. ¿El escritorio? ¡Si! lo tenía claro! Lo que si desconocía era lo que realmente quería utilizar y entonces, llegó Fedora. Y allí me instalé, la estuve utilizando bastante tiempo y de hecho entonces me dedicaba a programar páginas web. Eso significa que el uso que le daba principalmente era enfocado a tener un servidor Apache local, aplicaciones de programaciones web y poco más. Pero, que ese distrohopping se me haya ido de la cabeza, no quiere decir que me haya estancado ahí. Y entonces vino, la primera. La primera que figura en mi TOP 3. La primera es la que ha “sustituido” Fedora, aunque, desde que tengo el PC que tengo hoy en dia, y desde que virtualizo absolutamente todas las distribuciones, decidí dividir los quehaceres que le dedicó al PC y por tanto, surgió una segunda distribución que es también la segunda que le dará lugar a mi TOP 3. Voy a nombrar a Manjaro: Manjaro no ha logrado sustituir mi primera distribución, pero sí que ha logrado sustituir lo que yo solía hacer en Fedora. Llevo ya un tiempo usándolo para programar páginas web. Actualmente mi trabajo ya no es ese desde hace tiempo, pero si que suelo programar a veces, paralelamente a mi web propia y a al bot de Copito. Y decidí utilizar Manjaro para montar servidores web locales donde hago los desarrollos e instalar en él los IDE de programación y bases de datos. Personalmente me parece muy agradable utilizarlo, pues en él tengo a Gnome, y a pesar de que siempre he estado más acostumbrada a utilizar KDE Plasma, la verdad es que me siento bastante cómoda. Pero, luego viene mi centro principal, básicamente es donde lo tengo todo, todo todo todo. Mi vida “virtual” está la gran parte en la primera distribución y a su vez, la que tengo como primera en mi TOP 3. KDE Neon. ¿Por qué utilizo KDE Neon? Ideología, pura y dura. Sí, con el tiempo me he dado cuenta de que si estoy utilizando esta distribución no es por que haya un motivo excepto una ideología, una forma de pensar, una forma de ver las cosas. La cuestión está en que siempre que he utilizado GNU/Linux, mi escritorio favorito ha sido KDE Plas, plas, plasma. Y cuando salió KDE Neón, por el simple hecho de ser la distribución creada por los mismos creadores de Plasma, decidí utilizarla. Curiosamente, mi distribución principal es Arch Linux, pero no está incluida en mi TOP: Si, lo que acabo de decir es super extraño. Pero cuando prendo el PC lo primero que aparece es Arch Linux. Y todo lo demás está virtualizado en máquinas virtuales. ¿La tarjeta gráfica? La tengo conectada a las máquinas virtuales, al igual que la mayoría de la RAM y virtualizado todos los procesadores. Admito que eso lo probé en KDE Neón como principal, y solía tener problemas al cambiar entre las máquinas. Y al parecer, Arch Linux, sin interfaz gráfica, en solo una terminal ella solita, me permite hacer eso mismo y de una manera más eficaz. Bu sistem kendi bünyesinde bulundurduğu araçları sayesinde çeşitli üniversiteler ve kurumlar tarafından sıklıkla kullanılıyordu. Buraya kadar her şey gayet güzel ancak Unix lisans ücreti istiyordu ve tabii ki bu durum sistemi kullanabilecek kişilerin sayısını da oldukça azaltıyordu. Yani insanlar ihtiyaç duysalar dahi lisans ücretinden dolayı bu sistemi kullanamıyorlardı. Bunun sonucunda "para ödemek yerine bende kendi işletim sistemimi yazarım" diye düşünenler ortaya çıktı ve bu da UNIX'e mecbur olunmadığı, eğer istenirse yeni bir sistemin yazılabileceği düşüncesini ortaya koydu. Bunun sonucunda birçok işletim sistemi geliştirme girişimleri oldu ancak sonuçta geliştirilen sistemler stabil şekilde çalışmıyorlardı. Çünkü işletim sistemi dediğimiz yapı pek çok farklı bileşenin uyum içerisinde çalışmasını ve içeriğinde işlevsel araçları barındırmasını gerektiriyordu. Tahmin edebileceğiniz gibi bu iş bireysel olarak ortaya verimli sonuçlar koyulamayacak kadar kapsamlı çalışma gerektiriyordu. Tabi bu durum sonsuza kadar böyle kalmayacaktı.. Linus Torvalds İnsanların lisans ücretinden kaçmak için kendi işletim sistemini yazma akımı devam ediyorken bu durum Linus Torvalds'ı da etkilemiş olacak ki Linus, UNIX'ten esinlener ek Helsinki Üniversitesi'ndeyken kendi işletim sistemi çekirdeğini yazdı. UNIX'ten esinlendi ancak bunu hiçbir kod alıntısı yapmadan sıfırdan yazarak başardı. Daha sonra Linus, bu geliştirdiği çekirdeği çeşitli insanlar ve gruplarla(geliştirici toplulukları vb..) paylaşarak topluluğun sunduğu katkılarla çekirdeği geliştirmeye devam etti. Topluluk sayesinde çekirdeğin geliştirilme hızı ve verimliliği zaman içerisinde ivmeli şekilde artmaya başladı. Ve en nihayetinde Linus, bu geliştirdiği çekirdeğe(kernel) "Linux" adını verdi. Ancak maalesef ki Linux sadece bir çekirdekti ve içerisinde UNIX gibi kullanışlı araçları bulundurmuyordu. Çekirdeğin görevi; sistemde yüklü bulunan araçlar yani yazılımlar üzerinden kullanıcının gerçekleştirmiş olduğu işlemleri, donanımın anlayacağı dilden ifade etmektir. Bu sayede kullanıcının gerçekleştirmek istediği işlem emirleri donanıma yaptırılmış olur. Yani burada bahsi geçen çekirdek sadece bir arabirimdir. Tek başına işletim sistemi değildir. Kullanıcıların işlerini halledebilmeleri için elbette işlevsel araçlara da ihtiyaçları vardır. Araçlar olmadan kullanıcılar çekirdeğe emir verdirip işlerini donanıma yaptırtamazlar. Yani herkesin özgürce kullanıp geliştirebilmesine açık olan ücretiz çekirdeğin bulunması harika ancak kullanıcıların işlerini görebilecekleri araçlar olmadan tek başına anlamsızdır. Linux cephesinde bu gelişmeler yaşanıyorken aynı dönemde geliştirilmekte olan GNU işletim sistemi için de işler çok iyi gitmiyordu. GNU (Gnu is Not Unix/GNU Unix Değildir), açık kaynak hareketi doğrultusunda geliştirilen araçların içinde bulunduğu ücretsiz ve herkes için ulaşılabilir bir işletim sistemidir. GNU varlığı ve savunduğu ilkeler ile herkes için harika bir imkan sunuyor olmasına karşın henüz verimli şekilde kullanılacak kadar kusursuz değildi. GNU, içerisinde açık kaynaklı güçlü özgür yazılım araçlarını bulundurmasının yanı sıra kararlı bir çekirdeğe sahip değildi. Çekirdek için denemeler yapılmış ancak kararlı bir çekirdek oluşturulamamıştı. Tam da bu noktada Linus Torvalds'ın topluluğa sunduğu ve topluluk doğrultusunda geliştirdiği çekirdek yazılımı, GNU ile tencere kapak uyumu olacak şekilde bir araya geldi. Böylelikle ortaya bir GNU/Linux efsanesi çıktı. GNU sisteminin sahip olduğu özgür ve açık kaynaklı yazılımlar ile açık kaynaklı ve topluluk ile geliştirilen Linux çekirdeği birleşerek, herkese açık, ücretsiz ve sınırsız geliştirilme potansiyeline sahip, gerçek anlamda insana hizmet eden özgür bir işletim sistemi ortaya çıkmış oldu. Y es con este ordenador cuando empezó todo y, concretamente, con Windows XP.Aunque, su primero contacto con GNU/Linux fue con Knoppix. Él pensaba que simplemente era una utilidad de rescate cuando realmente era un sistema operativo totalmente diferente, pues era GNU/Linux. A Nicolás le gustaban tanto los ordenadores que, juntamente con un amigo, se dedicaba a montar PC desde cero, utilizando diversas piezas como memorias RAM, discos duros, etc. Estos ordenadores tenían prestaciones muy bajas y básicamente lo que hacían era “revivirlos” instalando GNU/Linux. Entonces, las distribuciones de GNU/Linux eran muchísimo más ligeras que las de ahora. Más adelante se compró un laptop que venía con Microsoft Windows Vista. El problema de Windows Vista es que no le funcionaba “muy bien”, pues el rendimiento de mucho de sus juegos no era el que el quería, por eos mismo decidió instalarle Windows XP en su lugar, pero sin demasiado éxito. Pues el laptop tenía controladores para Windows Vista, pero no para Windows XP, y por ende, no le acabó de funcionar. Y fue entonces cuando probó de instalarle Ubuntu. O uso do NMAP é simples, é pelo Command Line, algo que é normal para nós hackers, basta simplesmente abrir um console e executar o comando nmap conforme exemplo abaixo (supondo que estou na rede 192.168.0.0/24).
