Andreas Wolny who assembles the Cadex Tri Bike in this video is for many years at Giant responsible for the technical support of professional teams and individual top athletes. Andreas Wolny led the development of the Cadex Tri. In this video he assembles a Cadex Tri for Kristian Blummenfelt, of course in special custom paint just for the ironman world record holder. The Cadex Tri Bike is a no-compromise triathlon machine. The radical monocoque construction opens up a new level of aero efficiency. Every tube, every angle and all components are designed and matched to achieve best aerodynamic performance. Both nutrition and fluid can be stowed and accessed in the down tube without leaving the optimal riding position. Light, aero, cheap — pick two. Cadex has a new aero wheelset with bladed carbon spokes that weighs a claimed 1,349g — lighter than wheels from ENVE, Roval, Bontrager and Shimano of a similar rim depth. Further, Cadex claims these new 50 Ultra Disc wheels are faster in terms of aerodynamic drag than the ENVEs, Rovals, and Bontragers (Shimanos weren't tested). I don't have a wind tunnel to test aero-drag claims, but I do have 20+ years experience as a cycling journalist, and I tested these wheels for a few weeks including at the road race at the USA Cycling Masters National Championships outside my old hometown of Albuquerque, New Mexico. That course featured rollers, wind, a variety of surface conditions and the painfully steep Heartbreak Hill; in short, the course was one where you wanted an aero setup that was also lightweight. “How do you achieve the impossible? This is how.” After winning everything from Olympic gold to the IRONMAN World Championships in one year, Kristian Blummenfelt aimed to go faster than any other Ironman triathlete in the history of the sport as part of the Pho3nix Sub7/Sub8 Project. An ambitious endeavor to push the limits of human endurance, Blummenfelt was chosen for this bold attempt to complete the full Ironman triathlon distance in less than 7 hours. The unique event threw out the usual no-drafting rules of Ironman races and allowed each athlete a team of pacers for the swim, bike and run legs. Blummenfelt and his team of eight pacers each rode the new CADEX Tri frameset and CADEX Aero WheelSystems, cutting-edge race gear that helped the Norwegian accomplish his goal. He completed the 180km bike distance with a time of 3:24:22 for an average speed of 52.8 kph, shattering his target time by nearly 25 minutes for a historic full distance IRONMAN time of 6:44:25. A specialist products lab within the Giant Bicycle corporation created the first commercially produced carbon fibre bicycle frames bearing the name Cadex back in the late 80s. well today isn't like any other day, Its not everyday you get to go to a premium precision rifle manufacturing facility, and even less to get full factory tour of Cadex defense (thanks Patrice!) So I got up early that day 8am, I rarely do, got up and drive 2 hours away to a town in Quebec Canada called Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu. My goal going to Cadex was to do some interviews on their full rifle lineup and learn, learn about what makes Cadex defense different? what makes them a premium rifle manufacturer, what kind of material and tools do they use. After meeting with them seeing the Research and development teams working there meeting their lead engineer, yes they even took him away from his work to meet me and discuss one of my projects, It really was a amazing experience. So in this first segment, were going to go over the rifles, the CDX R7, the CDX40 and the CDX50, yes there's a CDX 30 but no we didnt have it out! also I really wanted to see the new Seven Stars Pro, for those of you who don't know Cadex came out with this new action/chassis Combo tat has tons of really neat features, for one on the chassis the grip moves forward and back, its got all the bells an whistles bt you will have to see the rest of the in the video. originally I was going to do one full lenght video, but compiled that wuld end up being 40 minutes long... so 2 segments it is! in the next segment we take a quick look at their Strike Nuke chassis, then we start the factory tour! enjoy!
